Our first visit to Galley’s Gill was hugely exciting – especially as we had explored it so much using our maps in class.

We were able to see important landmarks such as The Minster, and of course the River Wear and Wearmouth bridges.

We didn’t realize that Galley’s Gill was so close to the city centre – and it’s so beautiful…if you look past the glass and litter.

Drawing the Wearmouth bridges using charcoal helped connect us to our past!
